I can't believe it's almost Easter! Happy Easter everyone!! Much has happened since the last time I wrote... and wow, I can't believe that was last year! ok ok ok... I'll try and make this a priority!
To Recap:
1. We had a fabulous end of the year. Good times, good eats and great family memories! The holidays were a blast and we did something different this year. We decided to spend less and get more creative! So, as a family, we decided to only do "stockings" (mind you, these stockings were 3 foot high and 2 foot wide! lol) The kids got to "fill" ours and we did the kids. The limit was $100 for each person. OMG! Do you know how HARD that is to do??? lol But, we did it and it became a very creative process to put things in them that were fun, meaningful and desirable! Needless to say, it was wonderful and something I recommend to others to try. It really helps ease the pressure of spending too much on a holiday and helps the family get into it. Yes, it is best if you wait until your kids are grown! Mine are both over 21 and so they can get into it and appreciate the spirit of the game.
2. The Women in Poker Hall of Fame - I'm not going to write about it in this particular post. It was too fabulous to just give it a mention. So I'll write all about it in a separate post!
3. Ahhh... the Mexican Riviera cruise. For the first time, the whole family went on a cruise vacation together! It was sooo much fun and perfectly relaxing. No pressure, no phones, no internet, no nada!! I LOVED IT! And I was able to share some of the culture with my children who have never been anywhere in Mexico outside of Baja and boy, what a joy it was. We went to museums, off the beaten path restaurants, into the jungle (which is very close to the flavor of where I was raised) and still had all the luxuries of the cruise ship to enjoy when we weren't in port! Some friends were also on board so that made it even better! The only downside was I did manage to get the worst cold of my life and I stayed in bed for the last three days of the cruise. But, hey... a bad day on a cruise beats any good day at work! lol
4. Gearing up for a huge poker summer!! We have some very exciting things happening this summer in Vegas! If a woman who plays poker doesn't take advantage of it, then she is just not really into poker! lol We have all these great events:
June 6th - Binion's Ladies Event - $90 + $10 11AM 2K in starting chips and Optional $10 - 2K bonus chips
June 7th - Golden Nugget LIPS WSOP Ladies Super Satellite - $135 + $25 3PM 3K in starting chips with an Optional $5 - 2K in bonus chips. 20 min rounds. For every 10 players the following will be awarded: One seat to the Ladies WSOP $1k event. - Players choice to $300 + $30 event for either the Monday Golden Nugget LIPS event or to the LIPS Championship July 13th at the Orleans Casino.
June 8th - WSOP $1K Ladies Event - 3 Day Event
June 9th - Golden Nugget LIPS Ladies Event $300 + $30 Noon 4K in starting chips with an optional $10 - 2K bonus chips 40 Min Rounds.
And don't forget our monthly event at Orleans Casino!
June 21st 11AM $150 + $25 - 5K in starting chips with 20 min rounds for the first 3 rounds then changes to 30 min rounds.
SO, there is something for all levels of players and all pocket books!! Just remember, you can get in through satellites on any of these events. So do it, enjoy and GOOD LUCK!
5. FINALLY! We're getting our Online Leagues back in action! Some are for the ladies and others are mixed events for cruises, open events and specialty events. So look for that in the near future!
Well, that is about it at the moment... I'll be sure to get updated more often. (Now that I remember my log in! hehehe)
Hasta next time!
HUGS!

Bloggin means???
Well I guess it really means you have to WRITE something! hehehe Well, I am usually behind on normal correspondence, so blogging will be a challenge for me.
So, here is whats been on my mind lately....
Recently my family and I have had set backs in a variety of areas of our lives. However, for the first time in my life, the issues aren't making me unhappy! I think I have been sorting through the things I can do something about and those that I can't. And I'm concentrating on the things I can control and letting God handle the things I can't. And you know what?? God is good! lol
I mean it. In the smallest of ways, He shows up. And I am comforted and even tickeled when it smacks me in the forehead "Ah ha!" I didn't have anything to do with that.... it was all Him.
The other thing? I love Joe. And my kids. It's been years since we have all lived together and as odd as it is, it's still wonderful. Sitting at the table to eat is fun. We used to only do that at holiday times, but now, we do it at least 3-4 times a week. It's a moment to connect that we haven't done in ages but is precious.
ok, this blogging thing isn't so bad. But I could go on and on and on and I'd bore you to death! lol
Hasta!

Thanks to the Poker Chix....
I'm playing in the Omaha H/L $1500 buy in WSOP event tomorrow! I can't wait! The gals got together and bought "shares" of me... omg, I am sooo honored! Their faith in my play will take me a long way. I'll think about all my starting hands, all my bets, and the raises with them in mind and their spirits will help me get through that insane field!
I went and picked up snacks and little things for my "survival" bag I'm taking... the only thing I forgot was my hand sanitzer! I'll have to have it if I plan on munching at the table... that is for sure!
This is a dream of mine to play this event... it's always fabulous to realize a dream! Thank you my fellow chixters for helping make this dream come true! I love you!!

Hello world! I'm a blogger! lol
After a lot of encouragement from folks, I decided to jump on the blog band wagon. It's OK though, it will help me record all the interesting situations I get into... and em, out of! hehehe
It's a Sunday and it's 95 degrees outside here in Vegas, the start of a really long and hot summer I suppose... when Joe came down stairs and said "Come on, we're going to Mt. Charleston!"
Wow, what an oasis in such short distance!! This mountain is only 30 mins from Vegas and at 11,918 feet above sea level, Charleston Peak is the second highest mountain of the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area, and the highest point of the Nevada portion of the Toiyabe National Forest. The cool part is the temperature on the mountain is usually 25-30 degrees cooler than that of Las Vegas, and trust me, it was! We clocked the temperature on the way down and about every 2 mins down, it was another 5 degrees hotter! I'm just grateful to have discovered it... now I can escape the heat and be there in no time at all!
It's almost time for the weekend to end, and I just got a call from Gyla, Janice and Michelle out at the WSOP Circuit Event in New Orleans where London Gallagher is on the final table of the Ladies event!! She went out in third place, but still... it was a blast to sweat her all the way from here! Congratulations London!!
I'm working on some really fun projects and I hope to be able to share them with you very soon. One of which is a dream realized! I can't wait!!
Until next time.... HUGS!
